CRPA Hall of Fame Program

The Hall of Fame Award was created to recognize any individual or organization that has made extraordinary contributions to the recreation, park, golf or conservation movement in Connecticut.  Recognition will be made at the CRPA Annual Conference.  The Hall of Fame will be located at the CRPA office where plaques, awards and/or portraits will be displayed. 

Nominations:  Any member or agency which holds a current and active membership in CRPA may nominate one individual or agency for this award. 

Eligibility: 

• Nominees must be individuals/organizations who have not been previously recognized for this award. 
• An individual/organization whose efforts have made a lasting contribution to the field of parks and recreation.  Examples of distinguished areas might be golf, facility construction, park design, health, exemplary programs etc.
• For individual nominations: A parks and recreation professional who was an active member of CRPA for at least ten (10) years; or a parks and recreation professional that has been active in the profession for thirty years (30).  

Basis for nomination: 

1. A summary of the contributions and efforts of this individual/organization that has a significant influence on the parks and recreation field in Connecticut.
2. Supporting information explaining why the individual/organization is deserving of this award.
3. Achievements on the local, state or national level.

Selection criteria:  The Hall of Fame Awards Committee will review all applications and select individuals/organizations deserving of such award based on eligibility requirements. 

There is no limit to the awards which may be given in any year, additionally; the committee is not required to present a Hall of Fame candidate each year.   Awards may be made posthumously. 

Nomination deadline:  Submit all applications to Jim Capodiece by Tuesday, September 2, 2008.
