The 2010 Conference will once again take place at the state of the art facility of the Mohegan Sun Convention Center. This elaborate space allows for our profession to securely state its position in the statewide playing field. Mohegan Sun allows us to bring the opportunity for park and recreation professionals to network, and learn about innovations in the field, in one of the largest exhibit halls in New England. The extended exhibit hall provides an opportunity for consultation, and to sample a breadth of variety that the profession has to offer. Come and be part of this experience that will be sure to broaden your thinking.
50 years of outstanding professional education
1st Annual Governor's Conference on Recreation was held September 9th 1960 at the Hotel Statler, in Hartford (the same day Hurricane "Donna" hit the State of CT) . We were please and honored to have the Executive Director of the National Recreation and Parks Association, present and the Governor the Honorable Abraham Robcoff.
"The objective of the 1st Annual Governor's Conference on Recreation was to create an awareness of the role that recreation plays in community living, and to emphasize the responsibility of the modern community in providing recreation programs, facilities, and qualified leadership."
