Admission
Admission to the event is free to both participants and spectators.

Changes/Additions
No changes or additions will be made to the participant roster at the race. The decision of the Finish Line Judge and Meet Director is final.

Awards
Ribbons for the first 8 places in each event will be awarded immediately following verification of results.


Meet Guidelines

  • Meet will involve the top 4 times/distance from each of the four districts in each event. Each participant will receive three (3) attempts in each field event.

    Athletes may not wear spikes, turf shoes, or any shoes made to fit spikes.  Waffle shoes are allowed.

    When a participant is not competing, or at the award stand, he/she should
    be seated in the bleacher section, except when warming up.  All warm ups will be in the designated bull pen area. There will be no practicing allowed on the track. Parents/coaches will be responsible for participants arriving on time to their respective events. Pay attention to first, second and last calls for all events. The meet will not be delayed for late arriving participants. Running events will take priority over field events.

    Number of events: A contestant may qualify for a maximum of 3 events in the state meet. Participants selected for the North American Finals are restricted to one event only.

  • Sideline coaching will not be allowed. Only staff and competitors will be allowed on the infield.

    Admission: Admission to the event is free to both participants and spectators. 

    The concession stand will be open for those wishing to purchase food.

    Awards: Ribbons for participants in each event will be awarded immediately following verification of results.  Ribbons will be awarded for 1st – 8th place. 

    North American Final: August 5 – August 8, 2010 in Hershey, PA. Those youth that qualify for the New England team will be contacted as soon as the final team is chosen (after July 16th).  NOTE: Not every winner at the State Final will advance to the North American Finals.  Comparisons will be made with other New England finalists. A minimum of five youth from Connecticut will be selected to compete in the North American Final.  Age groups 9-10 and 11-12, 4x100 meter relays will not qualify for the North American Final.

Directions

From I-84 West
Take exit 39A (Rt. 9 South). Heading south on Rt. 9 take exit 25 (Ellis Street). Turn left at the light on to Ellis St., then turn left at the next light on to South Main Street. New Britain Stadium (at Willow Brook Park) is approximately one mile on the right.

From I-84 East
Take exit 35 (Rt. 72 East - New Britain). Take 72 East to Rt 9 South. Heading south on Rt. 9 take exit 25 (Ellis Street). Turn left at the light on to Ellis St., then turn left at the next light on to South Main Street. New Britain Stadium (at Willow Brook Park) is approximately one mile on the right

From I-91
Take exit 22N (Rt. 9 North). Heading north on Rt. 9 take exit 24 (Rt. 71 Kensington). Take the first exit off of Rt. 71 for Willow Brook Park. Go straight through the light at the end of the ramp into the parking lot.
