Community Programs

Providing help and support to member departments and towns is important.  Programs that are fun and teach the values of play, and physical activity are important.  CRPA has two programs it supports by helping to co-ordinate these programs to be run by local park and recreation departments.

Hotshots

The Hot Shot Contest is a fun, simple state-wide basketball shooting contest where each player will have three, one-minute rounds to shoot from hotshots placed on the court. No need for special skills, membership or talent. Come out and try your shot, see if you have a natural touch. Prizes are awarded to all the winners at the local, county, and state champions.

  • For more information on having a Hot Shot Contest in your community please contact your local park and recration deaprtment, or the CRPA office:

Hershey's Track and Field Games

Hershey's Track and Field Games is a playground program designed to introduce children between the ages of 9 and 14 to physical fitness through basic track and field events, such as a running, jumping and throwing. It emphasizes participation, friendship and sportsmanship.

Children participate in local meets, with the opportunity to move on to district, state and national competitions. It is truly "More Than a Track Meet!"
